Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Clinical Laboratory Technician or CLIA equivalent desired. Other science degrees may be acceptable.
The medical laboratory technicican (MLT) performs various laboratory tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases. They obtain or receive specimens for laboratory analysis and judge if specimens are of good quality. All laboratory equipment and needed materials are under the care of the MLT. They are responsible for understanding the basic principles behind each test and for utilizing that knowledge in all departments. Quality control is a major consideration in their work. They report all test results and maintain records of performance as defined in the laboratory’s general and sectional policy and procedure manuals.
40 hours/week. 12-hour shifts evening/nights with weekend rotation.

Minimum of one year busy Emergency Department experience. BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC and ENPC or within 6 months of hire. Triage experience
The respiratory therapist assumes responsibility for the administration of the procedures and services offered by the Cardiopulmonary Department. Must perform all required functions and educational procedures to the patient for proper care without constant supervision. These include bronchial hygiene, EKG’s, EEG’s, polysomnography, bronchodilation, nasal washings, cardiac stress testing, oxygen delivery, pulmonary function testing, codes, ABG’s and ventilator care.

Provides direct patient care to patients of all ages, pediatric through geriatric populations. Address the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical
environment. Communicates with the surgeon and anesthesia provider as needed about the patient’s condition. Assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory. Participates in performance improvement activities. Assess operating room for equipment functioning and readiness, obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures appropriate needs of surgical operating team are met. Monitors, positions and assists during patient procedures.

Starting at $15.00 per hour, plus applicable shift differentials.
Experience in janitorial work is preferred, but not necessary. Team player and able to multitask.
Prior experience with scrubbing surgical procedures in Ortho, General, ENT, Ophthalmology and GI Endoscopy. Sterile processing experience a plus. Requires effective communication skills, flexibility and attention to detail a must.
Iowa RN license in good standing with RN circulator experience strongly preferred (experience with scrubbing, sterile processing a plus). Positins requires AHA, BLS, AClLS, PALS certificatinons (can obtain ACLS, PALS after hire); AORN or other relevant memberships preferred; effective communication skills, flexibilitiy and attention to detail a must.

Responsible for the collection and processing of laboratory specimens, ordering laboratory tests, sorting and distributing laboratory reports, answering phones, specimen labeling, transporting samples between collection sites and the laboratory, plating microbiology specimens, performing waived tests, preparing and staining slides for analysis, performing phlebotomy, record testing information, cleaning and restocking the lab facility, keeping inventory and ordering lab supplies, load and operate laboratory testing equipment for waived testing only, clean and maintain medical laboratory and medical laboratory equipment, must demonstrate absolute accuracy in patient identification. Requires the ability to professionally portray the Laboratory’s image by demonstrating pleasant and courteous mannerisms at all times.
